HARRISBURG – Rep. Chris Quinn (R-Delaware) issued the following statement regarding the filing of criminal charges against Energy Transfer Partners in relation to the Mariner East Pipeline:
“The criminal charges filed today against Energy Transfer Partners related to the construction and operation of the Mariner East pipeline are extremely troubling. For those who live in close proximity to the pipeline, there has been no end to the disruption to many things we take for granted such as plentiful access to clean water for drinking, cooking and daily life.
“Pennsylvanians’ right to unblemished natural resources is enshrined in our Commonwealth’s Constitution. Those who pollute those resources, whether intentionally or by wanton disregard, must be held to account, and it is appropriate that state and local law enforcement is pursuing these matters in defense of citizens’ rights.”
